I am running xp home on 2 laptops. one does not have an
internal cdrom drive, but it needs to be formatted...
how do i set it up so that i can boot from the other
computers cdrom drive?

alternatively, i have a usb cdrom drive, but in bios,
there is no option to boot from an external device... is
there a way to change that?

any help would be GREAT

thanks,
tim

You can't boot one computer from another computer's CDROM drive. The best
you could do would be to boot with a floppy diskette with network support,
connect to the remote CDROM drive, then run what you need to run.

Neither can you add USB boot support to your BIOS if it does not support it.

thanks for the reply, and i hate to add to the
troubles... but my computer does not have a floppy
drive...

There's a term to describe the place you're at right now ... it involves a
creek and a paddle ... :-)
