I have a Canon printer installed on an XP desktop computer. It was networked
with another XP desktop computer. When I installed Vista on the computer
without the printer I was unable to get printer networking. I've gone on
line and saw many ideas on how to do make it work. Nothing has worked for me
so far. I have Norton 2007 installed. Canon says because the printer works
when hooked up to the Vista computer, It's up to Windows to come up with the
right settings. Please help....
extremely frustrated!!!

Uninstall Norton and see if it will network correctly then. There should be
absolutely no problem in installing the Pixma providing your network is set
up correctly.

Although my Pixma 4300 is installed on a Vista PC, every PC in my network
can print to it.... and they can all also all print to my i950 which is
installed on a XP MCE PC. But then again, I don't, and will never have any
Symantec software on any of my PCs. I use NOD32 as antivirus and the built
in firewalls on all PCs..... and my router serves as a hardware firewall.
The wireless side is protected with WPA2 (aka WPA-Personal)
