I have 2 computers on my home network, a new laptop with Vista, and a desktop
with XP. The computer can see each other, but they cannot open each others
shared folders, not even when you use the "public" folder.

I get the error:
You may not have permission to access this folder, please contact the
network adminstrator. There is not enough server storage to perform that
command.

Has anyone else had this issue and do you know how to fix it?

You may want to create the same username in the both computers. this link may help,
