netlogon event and dns

hi;
we have a small business server 2000 running e2k(for internal use only) and
sql server with 15 clients and service pack 3 is installed both for w2k and
e2k. everything worked fine until I decided to share internet (dial up) on
the server. then I started getting the netlogon error 5774 or 5775 on he
server which in short explained that the dns cannot be registered ( it is a
virtual domain name which does not exist at all) and the clients cannot
logon to the domain. they get an error like "no domain is available to
logon". but if I click ok once more everything seems to be normal on the
client side. hey can logon to exchange and etc.
I checked the microsoft web site and found some articls about dynamic
updates on dns and applied them but he logon problem is still going on.

I know this has to do with the domain name which does not exist but this
server will just share internet and more is not expected and I think there
should be a workaround. any ideas will be appreciated.

thanks in advance

Are you perhaps using your ISP's DNS in your dial up?
You will get these events then, if the DNS is dynamically assigned by your
ISP just change that and put your internal DNS address in. You can put your
ISP's DNS in as forwarders.
