Netgear problem

I just installed Vista RC1 on my desktop and it works fine now but the only
problem is that I am having problems installing my netgear wg111 wireless
adapter on the computer I put the cd in and the software installs but the
adapter does not install. Does anyone know what the problem is and can
someone tell me how to install the driver.

Which Edition of Vista is this, x64 or x86?
Some of my devices are not working, what should I do?
You can do a couple things; check the manufacturer’s website for patches,
updates or to simply find out about Vista support for the particular
product. If your internet connection is working in Windows Vista, I suggest
you try obtaining the drivers through Windows Update. Click Start > All
Programs > Windows Update > Turn on Windows Update. A list of available
updates will then be downloaded, you will have the option to view them, do
so and check off the appropriate drivers you need and click Install.

Same here. I have a WG311T Netgear wireless adapter in the pc. I dual-booted
Vista with my original XP Pro. XP still connects just fine through Netgear
adapter, but
not Vista. Drivers will install, but the wireless assistant will not open to
allow connecting to my established router.

I Tried Windows Update and the netgear site, but found nothing helpful. I
also tried
running the netgear setup through Vista's "program compatibility wizard",
and that
did not work either. I am connected through ethernet cable & router.

I have the same problem. I dual-booted Vista with my original XP Pro on the
same machine. XP still connects, but the Wireless assistant will not open in
Vista ta allow me to connect it to the router.

I tried Vista's program compatibility wizard, Windows Update, and the
Netgaer site,
but found nothing helpful. Meanwhile, I'm connected with a cable to the
router.
I am also interested in other suggestions. (Using RC1)

Hi guys - don't know if you've sorted this problem yet...

But I had the same problem with mine. - The solution was to remove the
netgear software and Vista will recognise the hardware but not be able to
find the drivers - if you go to the page where you can update the driver and
let it look on your NetGear CD it will find drivers for the 32 bit
application :)

The same method does not work for the 64 bit version and in fact NetGear
state on their site that they do NOT support 64 bit applications with their
drivers :(

Cheers

Still having no luck, I spend my day working in SQL2005 analysis services etc
yet I can't get a simple network card to work!!!!!

Silly me my cards are competing with each other for resources. Removed and
installed again one by one and all is working. Plug and play indeed! :)
