"net use" command does not work ?

You must use the share, eg, the following:
net use n: \\192.168.1.40\myshare

Don't add anything else on, just use \\machine\share
If you do that and it still fails, what error do you get
with that syntax?
 
If you do want to browse the shares, use "net view \\192.168.1.40"
