My set up is Desktop XP pro laptop 1 XP pro, laptops 2 & 3 Vista home
premium. Using Net Send from my desktop I can send a message to XP laptop
but not any of the Vista laptops. I get "A general network error occurred".
Check helpmsg 2136 only reiterates the previous error message.I am not up to
speed with Vista yet, am I overlooking some setting.

Net Send relies on the Messenger service, which will be disabled on almost
all modern PCs because of the nuisance it causes. I suggest you find an
alternative way of doing this.

Thanks for you response. I appreciate that the messenger service has to be
running to use Net Send as I have it running on my XP machines and therefore
Net Send works, but ther does noy appear to be a Mesenger service in Vista,
(unless it is called something else), would it be worth while posting this
question to a Vista News Group ?
