In addition to the other answer, have a look at VSJ:

They're covering both .NET and Java though tend to be more focused on .NET.
The articles are available for free on their web site and are generally of
pretty good quality. If you are living in the UK, you can even get the
monthly print version for free.

MSDN Magazine is available on MSDN and even has a free downloadable CHM file each month.
