Is there a Microsoft initiative to develop a .Net Framework (not Mono or
other third party framework) for other plataforms like Linux?

Max,

What is the intention of your messages. The people at Microsoft have there
food from selling OS, why should they for free help other OS builders?

..Net is free on microsoft OS systems, others are free to build it (for free
or for money) on their Operating systems.

If you would ask here if we know of other OS builders are as well building
..Net frameworks on their operating systems (With or without the helps from
Microsoft), than I would understand you.

Cor,

So why is M$ selling it's "portability"? Anyway, not sure why anyone would
want .NET compatibility on their OS -- it's a concept that has gone horribly
wrong with implementation.

..NET 2.0 framework itself is not a bad idea -- but again really just more
wrappers/layers which is ok. But VS 2005 is so bad I can barely call it
Beta -- I hope M$ invest in fixing VS 2005 as the promised SP1 has still not
yet surfaced.

Rob,

What should I write, in my idea will it have helped to port from Win32 to
WinFx?
