Do you by any chance get an error message?
Please post the last 20 lines of the Windows Update.log file.
To view the file:
Copy and paste "%windir%\windows update.log" (w/o the quotes)
into the Internet Explorer address bar and hit Enter.
Scroll down to the current date and look for the error being reported.
Please post the last 20 lines from the Windows Update.log file
Some options:
1) Looking at the error message in the log file:
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/
2) You cannot install some updates or programs
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=822798
3) Install .Net Framework from:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx? FamilyID=262d25e3-f589-4842-8157-
034d1e7cf3a3&DisplayLang=en
