I am trying to install some software. During the installation it states that
I need .net framework installed and starts to idownload and nstall it. It
stops and I I get the following message: Internal Error 2908 with a bunch of
numbers in parenthesis. I looked in the add/remove programs but do not see
..net framework. (I thought it would show up there is it was installed.) I
checked windows update and it shows that a service pack 1 to the .net
framework was installed successfully. So technically, I think .net
framework should be there since the service pack was installed. I don't know
is it is installed or not. When I try to reinstall it I get the above error
code 2908.

Show updates in Add/Remove - If you are running Windows XP Service Pack 2, select the Show updates check box (at the top of the
list),

O.K. - I don't show either .net framework or the sp1 for it in the add/remove
updates. I tried to download .net framework again from windows update and
it goes to install and I get a message: failed. Any idea what's wrong? Why
..net framework won't install?
