.NET Framework 1.1 Installation Failure

I am running Windows Vista Ultimate. I am trying to reinstall .NET Framework 1.1 and am getting the following error message - Microsoft .NET Framework Setup failed.


Nothing I have tried has affected this at all. I have tried stopping all but the minimum, trying it under a new user, etc.

Does anyone have an idea on how to oversome this error?
