Hi, I have a user with roaming profile. When user logs on, "Net.exe" is
listed under processes. If I kill this process the user can open shares etc.
If not the pc hangs.
Where is net.exe coming from ?. If I log in net.exe is not listed

There is most likely a piece of software installed that is causing this
or it could possibly be a virus. If you have a program installed called
'Messenger Stopper', try uninstalling it.

Scan the system with latest virus definitioned
antivirus, adaware, spybot, search and destroy,CWShredder.Run them in safe
mode.

net.exe = Net Command. It's a command line program.

net.exe lives here >>>
C:\WINDOWS\system32
and
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache

If net.exe exists anywhere else, it would be suspect.

The syntax of this command is:

NET [ ACCOUNTS | COMPUTER | CONFIG | CONTINUE | FILE | GROUP | HELP |
HELPMSG | LOCALGROUP | NAME | PAUSE | PRINT | SEND | SESSION |
SHARE | START | STATISTICS | STOP | TIME | USE | USER | VIEW ]
