.NET Compact Framework and Encryption

I am looking to encrypt a string to be stored in a file however I have
noticed all the usual classes I would use in the .NET Full framework are
tnot available like MD5, Triple DES etc.

What methods of encryption are available in the compact framework and
how are these used?
