Sorry, I know this is not the right newsgroup but I'm in a hurry and can't find a suitable newsgroup.
I've ripped a cassette (talking book) and created two tracks, side A and side B. I want to burn them to cd using Nero 7, unfortunately both tracks total 90 mins. They have to be played on a car cd player that doesn't recognise mp3's.
Is there a way to compress them to less than 80 mins so I can get them on one normal cd?

Yes, I know this is the wrong newsgroup, sorry but this is urgent.

Compressed files will not play in a regular CD audio player. Your other option is to break the files into three CD's. If I am not mistaken Nero has a wave editor and you can use that to break-up the wav files. If not, go to goldwave.com .

Here is the schema: CD1=Side A1 (60 minutes), CD2=Side A2(20 minutes)+Side B1 (20 minutes) and CD3= Side B2 (60 Minutes). There you go -- 3 CDs

Open the file in Nero Wave Editor, Save As then in the Save As box
click Options and reduce the frequency and save the file. This will
lower the quality but should still be OK for speech.
