negative numbers

When trying to enter a negative number, such as -1, excel changes it to 01.

I have been trying to duplicate this situation and it just would no
happen. Maybe, formatting your cell to GENERAL or NUMBER will help yo
solve this

I XL does this while you're editing, check Tools/Autocorrect and delete
the entry that converts - to 0.

If XL does this only after you hit Enter, check Format/Cells/Number for
a custom number format. (e.g., 0;\00;0;@).
