needs to be repaired or isn't a database file

Database was created in Access 97 on NT servers. It was a
multi-user DB accessed from NT workstations. Since
converting workstations and servers to 2000 Server and
Professional, DB is crashing. The database is still in 97
format and the client program is still Access 97. I am
getting the following errors.

You or another user may have unexpectedly quit Microsoft
Access while a Microsoft Access database was open. Do you
want Microsoft Access to attempt to repair the database?

needs to be repaired or isn't a database file.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

This is the exact same problem I have. I have many
databases on the network. I have a problem with one that
has more volume. When I had NT and Windows 2000 users,
there was not any problems. Now that everything in this
group that uses this database are all Windows 2000 and
Access 2000, I have this message come up at least 5 times
a day with the users using it less. I am not sure if it
is a record locking problem or what. We were on service
pack two and now going up to Service pack 3. Not sure if
that will solve the problem but will keep you posted.
