Hi,

I am using Windows 2000 Professional server. I have two network cards
in it. One is connected to cable Net, other is connected to local
network.
In N/W card which is connected to Cable Net data send receive will
process will continually going on even though I am not doing anything
in Internet, & while I am surfing in send data is always equal to
receive data. I have installed Norton antivirus & firewall in system.
Does Norton Firewall do good job?
I have tried various utility that will capture packed send & receive,
but from that I am not able to find actually which file is transfer in
network.

Can anyone suggest me utility using which I can able to find out what
actually transferred through network. I mean is it file, mail or due
to any virus?

Your suggestion will really help me lot.

Thanks

The best method is to use a packet sniffer, which you already mentioned
as having tried. I personally recommend Ethereal for the job. I do not
recall if the documentation explains in any detail how to understand
what's going on but I'm sure the net is filled with great information on
TCP-IP packets.

Hope this helps,

Sean

Thanks

But from that software I am not able to know total no of packed and IP
but I am not able to understand what actually transfering is? If any
one knows that kind of utility it really helps me.
