I am not sure if this is the right group, if not, please point me to the
right one - thank you.

I am novice to Filemaker pro familiarizing with filemaker pro 5.5 server and
filemaker pro 6 client.

First of all I would like to know little bit how Filemaker works? Does it
work like client-server architecture or something else?

I have a need to copy database (if you will) from one server to another. How
can I do this. I tried to export data, but it seems I will have to export
each of the fp5 files and then import them. Or is there a way to export the
entire database and then import it.

Or

I can copy the the directory/files from the source server onto object
server. But I don't know how to point to the new server.

Your help is highly appreciated.

I don't know which group is the right group, but you have to ask the
filemaker people, as that is their reasonability to build their community.

Check the filemaker website...it should provide you with some kind of
support links.

I mean, how did you find the ms-access one? (likely you went to some access
support sites!!!).
