Need to restore before boot!

Does anyone know how to restore my system settings from
yesterday before windows starts? I installed a program
that messed up my entire program, and the regular system
restore gives me an error when I select it after XP Pro
boots.

I also may have to do the same with the registry, if that
is possible.

Any ideas?
