Need to remove unwanted toolbars

MY daughter's IE has inadvertantly gotten some adult
content toolbars installed in her browser. I can hide
them but would like to remove them completely.

First, how do I remove them.

Second, is there a setting in IE I can use to prevent
something like this happening in the future?
