I tried to reinstall windows 2000 pro and it froze up at the last part when
registing componants so i than install windows xp home instead now i have
both operateing sytems with win 2000 not completely installed. does anyone
know how to remove win 2000 from system, even if i have to start from
new.Please help me?

If they're installed to the same partition then a clean install would really
be the best.

To do a clean install boot the Windows XP install CD-Rom. When you get to
the point, delete the existing NTFS and or other partitions found. After you
delete the partition(s) abort the install, then again restart the pc booting
the CD-Rom to avoid unexpected drive letter assignments with your new
install.

Be sure to apply SP2 or at least these to your new install before connecting
to any network.

Thank you Dave, but i tried that and i keep getting a error before i get to
that point. Is there any other way t format my hard drive and reinstall
windows xp?

What error? Possibly set the boot order in cmos setup to CD-Rom first in
boot sequence. Even though you set the boot order to CD-Rom first some bios
(I know Dell does this) requires you to hit F2 (or some other key) to boot
from CD-Rom at POST.
