Need to reformat after Blaster infeccion

Gentlemen,
In others Microsoft forums, which shall remain nameless, there are longs,
heated and sometimes ungentlemen like discusions concerning the need or not
to reformat the HD in order to eliminate the Baster virus.
I see no sugestion of such necesity in

I beg the MVPs of this forum to please be good enough to vote with a simple
YES or NO to the question:
"It is absolutly and irrevocably necessary to reformat the hard drive to
eliminate the Baster virus?"
