Need to move a form footer

I need to move the footer down so I can add more details to a form that I am
altering.

I am altering a form that has a footer and control button below the form
footer. I have been able to exapand the form and move the control buttons
(forward / back). However, i cannot get the form footer to move down so I
can add more
detail. When I go to delete it a lot of the form disappears.

How do I just the darn thing and move it down?

Maybe I'm missing something, but can't you make the Detail section taller by
dragging the bottom border down?
 
The line that goes across the page says "Form Footer". The items below it a
calculated field, an undo botton, a save button, and an exit button. I
thought they were control buttons but i could be wrong since I haven't done
this in years.

I did as you suggested but the 'Form Footer' is still above where I need it
to be. I want to add more detail but I don't want it to show in the footer.

Ah, I see what you mean now. The line you're looking at is the title bar of
the form footer, the space below it is the actual form footer itself. So the
controls are below the form footer's title bar, but within, not below, the
form footer section itself.

Did dragging down the bottom edge of the detail section solve the problem?
 
The double headed arrow ONLY shows up on the top part of the bar. I even
tried the side ruler. This thing will not move!

I tried adding the fields to the form to see if would push the 'Form Footer'
down and got the following error message that I think might be helpful.

"The Control or Subform controls is too large for this location."

That's because the top of the bar that says "Form Footer" is the bottom of
the section above (the Detail section in your case, if I understand
correctly). You can only makde sections grow by pulling the bottom of the
section down, or by moving a control with the arrow keys. Maybe there's
another way, but the point is you can't move the top of a section up.

If you see a bar that says "FormFooter" but there is nothing below it you
should see a double-headed arrow at the bottom of the Form Footer bar. This
is used to create a form footer. I suppose it is really the bottom of a
footer that has zero height. If you do not see a double headed arrow, the
actual form footer is located *under* the Form Footer bar. To make the Form
Footer bigger, find the bottom of it and drag it lower.
