Need to fix top shared borders and new_page_1.htm

I just had a small accident with an .htm file, and after I had deleted the
page, and it no longer existed in navigation view or in folders vew, the
title in the top shared border was no longer the web's title. The title in
the top shared border on all pages then carried the title of the error page
which had been deleted. In fact, even the default blank page when the web is
opened has that same title.
.........................
The error occurred because when I was in HTML View (of the error page) I
selected and deleted the whole page instead of going to the Folder view. I
realized then, that part of the deleted HTML page contained the top shared
border information. So I went to Folders View and deleted properly the
pieces of the error page and assured that it no longer showed up in
navigation view. Close web, shut down, and start over.

What I did to fix it (stupid) was open the _borders\top.htm and give it the
title from the index page which would be reflected on every page in the web,
(correctly). And that is what happens, only now, the new_page_1.htm default
page that shows when the web is opened, also shows the same title as the
deleted error page.

How can I fix this so that:
1. The new_page_1.htm comes up as a correct default page upon opening the
web

2. All the pages in the web show the web title from the index page in
their top borders and contain the hyperlinks for the main sections of the
web? (the way it was before)

If all your pages in the site are using the same fixed "title" from your top.htm shared border it is because you edited the top.htm
w/ fixed text
- instead select the "title" on the top.htm and use Insert Web Component Page Banner

Thank you, Stefan. Not sure how I'll make out with this, but will give it a
try.
