IAM WRITING A MANUSCRIPT WITH MANY REPEATS FOR A FEW LONG WORD, HOW DO I
CREATE A SHORT CUT TO ADD THEM WHEN REQUIRED INSTEAD OF TYPING AGAIN.

Look up AutoCorrect in help.

Assuming that you are using MS Word: go to tools>auto correct. - then
type in in the ‘replace’, something that you don't otherwise want to use -
for example two tildes - then under the ‘with’ column, type one of the long
repetitious words - then click OK . Do this, susbtituting something else
that you don’t want to use otherwise, in place of two tildes, for each of
the words which you want to add.. Then you may type two tildes [or
whatever] for the long word
