Need Soundmax driver, HELP!

I want to upgrade my soundmax driver but I have a no name brand
computer and I don't know what driver to install. I am running 98SE
(with all the critical updates) Celestron 450Mhz. I see that there are
a lot of versions like 5.12.01.????, will any of these work? I went to
the soundmax site and they refer me to either Intel or the manufacture
of my computer who is now not in business. At Intel, the mother board
number I find is not listed in their download section. Help.
Thanks
Alan
For thoes of you into problem solving, the reason I want an updated
driver is that my when my DSL software, Tango, is running and I try to
play a sound file there is a pause every 30 seconds on the dot in the
playback. This is when I AM NOT connected to the internet and the
sound file I am playing is on my hard drive so it isn't a bandwidth
problem. This occurs no mater what program I use to play back the
sound file. Of course when I unload Tango, no problem. Problem also
persists when I close down all other applications and shut down all
other background programs.

The DSL problem is solved...

Q: Playing music while Tango Manager is active causes glitches

A: Tango Manager has specific timer-interval based activities for both
Tango Access and Tango Support that may affect the playing of music
files. This has been noticed particularly on Windows 9x/Me operating
systems. If this presents a problem, you can disable these timers by
editing the Efficient.ini file and setting the following information:

[Configuration]
ComputerTimer=0

[Monitor]
EnableMonitor=0

This comes from: http://www.nts.com/support/Tango/Manager.html
A good source of info for Tango!
