Need some help with an Excel question

hi guys i wonder if some one can help

i have two columns in Excel in the following format

Column A Column B
12 Email
12 SMS
13 Letter
45 Email
12 SMS
33 EMAIL

i would like to work out the following

how many times the number "12" and "EMAIL" appear at same time in column A and B respectively

any help would be most appreciated
