Need some direction with front page extensions

I'm building a website with forms that need front page extensions.

I'd like to test the website out on my winxp professional server that is
running the webserver that comes with windowsxp via Internet Information
Services.

I'm having two problems.

First I'm not sure how to set up the webserver supplied with windowsxp
professional to use front page extensions.

I'm unable to even publish a web to the machine running the webserver.

I have no idea where to find information setting up internet information
services that comes with windowsxp professional.

This newsgroup is the closest thing to front page extensions and running
them on a server that I can find.

I'd appreciate any help - or where I might find help.

Thanks!

Bob

When you install IIS under Windows XP Pro, the FP extensions are automatically installed, but you
may need to configure them via the Control Panel | Admin Tools | IIS MMC, then select the default
web, right click, then All Task and select configure the FP Extensions.

Then to access the default web, either via FP or your browser, enter the URL as http://localhost or
http://IPAddress.

Note: You will not be able to test the email function of the forms, also it is really better to test
items like form directly on the remote server (a subweb is useful for this), since getting these
items to work locally doesn't ensure that they will work once published, unless the host has
installed and configured the extensions correctly and to support all of the features of the
extensions.
