Need shortcut icon

After doing some mainetenance on my computer, all of a
sudden I no longer have an shortcut icon on my desktop
nor in my lower left-hand corner taskbar, nor in my
programs menu. I still have IE though. The only way I can
open it is to click on an html file that has the IE logo.
I don't know how to create another icon.

Also, my calculator is GONE!

ANy ideas?

Have you checked the Recycle Bin? If they are present there, then they can easily be restored from there.
