Need service that logs first and last mouse/keyboard event per day

Dear all,

I am total ignorant when it comes to sw development, however I am sure
someone can write the following very easily - or even better: someone
knows where to get this:

I need a XP service that logs (e.g. in a file) a timestamp for the
first and the last mouse/keyboard event per day. I need this as a kind
of "time clock card" of my daily activities... Since I usually don't
shut down my pc - therefore the idea to use mouse/keyboard events to
track my start/absence.

I searched the net for something like this - no success...

Some more details:
*) I don't need the "real time" logged. e.g. it would be enough if a
timestamp is written e.g. once per x minutes.
*) And finally: only minimal performance impact...
