Need new record on focus

Hi all! Access 2007 - Vista SP1 x86

I have a form that I am using for data entry, and I have a save button that
saves the record to the table and then goes to the first control ready to
enter the next record. All there works as it should.

However, for some reason this form will not open with all controls cleared,
it displays the first entry in the table and I have to click the . I would
like to have the form open in new entry format/mode with nothing displayed
and ready to start entering the new record. The first control has the focus
when the form is opened. I am not sure if if it should be in the forms On
Load or On Activate Event, or...??

I have another entry form based on an appointments table that is set up
basically the same as this one, just a few less controls and different
queries for the controls, and when it is opened everything is clear and
ready to go. There is nothing in any of the Events, so I am not sure why one
works as it should and the other doesn't, given the forms are basically
alike. I have cross checked and can not see anything that would cause the
one to act differently than the other.

I would truly appreciate any suggestions of where I might look for any
clues, or how to set the controls to clear or go to New Record status on
when the form is opened.

Set the DataEntry property of the form to Yes.

Thanks, Ken. Checked on that to be sure and it is already set to yes. I'm
checking a few other settings again to be sure they are correct.
