hi,
I accidentally deleted some important files(mainly video)
using SHIFT-DELETE but i am not sure what files are
deleted and it makes me difficult to recover and re-
download the lost files. Is there any ways to check what
files are deleted by me? thanks. btw, is there any ways
to disable the SHIFT-DELETE function?

Check the recycle bin.

Hi,

Right - so why did you use shift+delete? It's not like you can do that by
accident. The solution there is simply not to use shift+delete. This is why
the Recycle Bin acts as a safety valve before permanent deletion. There are
many free file recovery tools, most of them rely on the data not being
overwritten. The more you use the machine, the less likely the chance of
recovery. Here is one that I use:

thanks alot for the help. i think i couldn't restore the
files using the software you recommended, and i am
wondering if there is any way that i can know the
filenames of the files i deleted?

It is my understanding that when you delete a file it is not deleted
until it is written over on the hard drive. Delete just gets rid of the
file name. You might be able to find some information about deleted files
by right clicking on said file and choosing Properties.

If you cannot see the file, how do you "right-click" on it?

Bishoop;
The deleted files can be found with utilities mentioned in this thread
or by using Clean Disk Security, for Example.
