Need help with making a special template

OK here is what I need. I work in a School house and I have a need to make a
document with a left side and right side column on a single page. The left
side needs to be protected so only employees with passwords can access it and
the right side unprotected so anyone can edit it. Is there a way to do this??
If it helps to explain what this is needed for it is for lesson plans the
left side is the side the instructor must not edit and has to read to the
students. The right side is the instructors personalazation side so it can be
edited by any instructor.

You could create a two column page and populate the left side with a table.
End the left column with a Column break. Then Tools > Protect Document, and
click on Forms and enter a password. You can use the various Table
properties to create the look you want.
