[Why so many stars for so few four-leaf clovers?]

I like this Murphy Law. Unfortunately I have it only in French.

The law is something like that :

"Given that the crach always arrives the day before the backup, the later
you backup, the later you crash."

Can someone help me to improve this sentence ?

Since a crash always occurs the day before the backup, the later you
back up, the later the crash will take place.

I think this sounds better, but it's not very "smooth" in the sense
that... well, it's not sufficiently concise for a humorous law.

Crashes always precede backups.

Backing up more often simply increases the frequency of crashes.

En français c'est :

"Etant donné que le plantage survient toujours la veille de la sauvegarde,
plus on retarde de la sauvegarde, plus on retarde le plantage"

Nan nan c'est pas ça : je me suis fait virer il y a deux ans par un petit
con de modérateur qui devrait apprendre a se modérer avant de modérer les
autres (coz je n'était pas dans la bonne version d'iso).
