Need Help Regarding "Auto-Hide" Feature

Sorry to post this simple question but have not found answer by searching.

When I use the pop-in bar for my favorites on the left of the screen, my
preference is to Auto-Hide it so that it is available if I move my cursor
over to the left but disappears auto when I work to the right of it. Would
like to save this preference so that it is auto-hide everytime I open IE but
so far, Auto-Hide is disabled everytime I start a new IE session! How do I
save that preference so that it is Auto-Hide when I start every IE session?

Are you referring to AutoHide in Kiosk mode (F11)?

Windows version? If WinXP, is SP2 installed?
 
Users have been asking for this feature for some time now (e.g.,
http://snipurl.com/hpvp) but AFAIK it's not possible, Mike. In Kiosk mode,
the AutoHide pushpin (drawing pin for UK'ers) for both Favorites and Search
is "pushed in" by default.
