You can boot off the Windows XP cd-rom and delete all partition during the
setup. Once you delete them, just press f3 to abort the install so the
computer reboots off the same cd. Next time in, it will act like a clean
system.

First off you may not have to go to that extreme. Not
sure what you mean by memory. If you are talking about
disk space on your HD then you should be able to clean
that up. As far as the new partition, if your drive is
formated using NTFS then you can either rezize the
partition or delete it. If this is not an option then
you will need a win98 or winME boot disk and run the
FDisk utility. For information on how to use the FDisk
utility see the following MS web page:

went he never suspected that he was the raingod.

Past experience deleting the partions using XP gave me a
duel boot of XP although I did not abort the install
after deleting the partions. Will have to try that next
time.

Greetings --

Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered
the opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of
the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of
boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
