Need help on calculating multiple clts data

Hi,

I am trying to match data for client's who appears more
than once in my list - I do not know how to do this - an
example is

John 100
john 100
ian 50
john 100
ian 50

How do I get the total for John and Ian without having to
use the filter? I have over 200 clients who appear on my
list, some of them in excess of 10 times.... Thank you
for your all you help.

where X2 houses a name of interest like John.
