I need to take several powerpoint presentations, shrink them to approximately
30% of their size, and drop them into a quark document on a mac to print.
When I save them as PDFs to do this, it looks terrible....blurry, can't read
small type. I asked 2 graphics people what to do...and a printer. They said
powerpoint used to have a file in the old version called .eps that was great
but they got rid of it. These mac people have no interest in my pc files.
HELP!

I don't recall PPT ever having an export/save as EPS function.

You can save as WMF and then open those in Illustrator and convert to EPS.
Setting up some actions and batch processing in Illo will help you speed
this up.

If they meant that PPT could export to EPS, they're mistaken. It's never been
able to do that.

Ignore what the PDFs look like on screen; how do they print to a decent printer?
They'll probably be ok.

Re what you see on screen, your Acrobat/Reader preferences may be set to
"smooth" type and graphics. This generally makes text look better but does so
by blurring it slightly at the edges. If the text is very small, blurring can
make the text unreadable.
