Need help, badly.

Jonathan Kay, I recently visited
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/problem.aspx?ID=8 to
stop Windows Messenger from loading with Outlook Express,
and I foolowed the instruction exactly, but Windows
Messenger still loaded despite unchecking the
option "Start Windows MEssenger with Outlook Expresss" or
whatever. Do you know why? Thanks.

Greetings Andrew,

The option won't actually do what it says if you have the Contacts pane open (lower left).
However, you can keep your Contacts pane and stop Outlook Express from starting by closing
Outlook Express, then downloading and running the following .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/stopmessenger_oe.reg
