Lets start with, I don't know computers very well at all.
I installed XP Service Pack 2 over the weekend and now my internet doesn't
work. Internet Explorer will not start. MSN will start but I can only
browse the net, nothing else.
I tried to restore to an earlier date but that didn't work. The only date I
could restore to is the date I installed XP SP2. It didn't remove it or fix
the problem.
I checked with MSN and Qwest and they both show no problem on there end. My
DSL modem shows internet working but I can't get it.
I also need to remove Norton and it says I need to sign in but that won't
let me either.
If I restore my whole computer, won't I loss programs.

After you have removed SP2, and before you install it once again, make
certain that all of your programs, third party drivers for printers, etc.,
and drivers for your graphics controller are updated to be compatible with
SP2. It is unlikely that you will have problems with graphics drivers.
Also, make sure that your BIOS has been updated, if necessary, to be
compatible with SP2. I suspect your problems stem from one or more of these
precautions not being made.
