Need "Common" Financial Report

D

Dan Skiendziel

I am struggling with something that should be seemingly
very simple (you may think so after reading this).

What I want to do is have a report that shows 12 months
across the top of the report with that month's data in a
column below it. The rows need to be grouped in various
ways (sales regions, markets, brands, totals).

My main data table is set up like this:
DATE REGION MARKET BRAND QTY SALES

How do I get the dates (months) across the top and the
Region/Market/Brand down the left (rows) with QTY & SALES
as the data?

Any help is appreciated.

Yes I have tried a Pivot Table on its own (Form). Are
you saying that I should try pulling in the Form to a
Report (if that can be done)? I need to do additional
comparison calculations including period-to-period
differences including percent changes. I'll pursue the
Pivot Table route for now.

I thought I've seen how to do a Pivot Report - but now
that I'm can't find it. You could try a Tabular report
and will put the data across the top, then you can
customize your grouping... I'll keep looking

I think a crosstab query is my answer. I haven't used
those much in ht epast and forgot about them. Will let
you know how it goes.
