Need admin privileges to delete temp files

I'm the only user on my computer. Recently I tried to
delete my IE 6 temp files and was told that I needed admin
privileges to do this. Now I can't change any of my
browser settings. Is there any way to give myself admin
privileges short of reinstalling my OS? Please e-mail me--
I may not be able to get back on here for a while.
