Need a way to close a group of programs.

Since getting on the local fiber network, I uninstalled Netlaunch
since it no longer worked. It's easy to launch my favorite group of
programs with the following batchfile:
______________________________
"C:\Program Files\CookieCop\CookieCop.exe"
"C:\Program Files\WebWasher\wwasher.exe"
"C:\Program Files\mozilla.org\Mozilla\mozilla.exe" -quiet
______________________________

but there seems to be no way to shut them down as a group. I've looked
at several programs, then finally at Enditall, but it doesn't quite
seem to be what I want. Any other options out there? Any batch files?
Programs?

TIA

Maybe closeall.exe here:

Hello John

Have you tried NetRun? http://www.ticon.net/~jclogon/NetRun.html I think
this is the sort of thing you are looking for.

I only had one minor problem. When it closed the programs, some of the icons
were still present in the system tray next to the clock (ZoneAlarm in
particular). These icons were easily closed by moving the mouse over them.
YMMV.

You can use PrcView in commandline mode (pv.exe in a batch file) to kill
any running process(es). The .exe is only 42kb and non-resident.

From a Nonags site, the following description:

"This little utility (33 KB) closes all the visible applications in
the Windows desktop. CloseAll places itself in the System Tray. New
options and bug fixes (read the readme.txt file)."

That would be a little too extreme. I'd really like to be able to
configure the programs that are shut down. And I notice that the
homepage for the program is 404ed now.

Thanks anyway though.

I use Batch Run on a Win98se machine with no problems for this very purpose.

Thanks. I've downloaded it and will check it out. Funny that the page
doesn't mention that the program is freeware. It is though, and says
so in the included readme file.

Yes the homepage is 404.
The link I gave is for the one I use which is approx. twice the
size of the nonags one listed.
The one I use allows some configuration of what to close.
Using the reverse logic of choosing what not to close.
Your welcome, anyway though.

The above link to the last freeware version (v4.0.1.5) was mentioned here a
while back. According to the author's homepage, the current version is
shareware. According to the http://www.outertech.com/ page, the old freeware
version will run on Win9x, ME, 2k, and XP. I downloaded it to run OE,
OE-QuoteFix, and SpamPal as a batch and I've since found many other uses for
it. (BTW, I still run, and love, Netlaunch!)
