How do I create a slide layout that includes image content first and then
the title along the bottom of the slide. I am currently stuck with
selecting "blank" and then manually adding and resizing the content and
title for each slide. I have hundreds of these to do. Save me from
terminal tedium please!

LuDean,
Go to View - Master - slide master - drag the title placeholder to the
bottom of the slide, and move the text placeholder to the top.
Does this help?

Something like that. Only problem is, it changed the title to the bottom on
all the slide layouts, so I will have to change it back each time I want to
use any of the other available slide layouts. Is there a way to change just
one of the slide layouts without changing all of them?

Two ideas, both involving add-ins, both free for what you need to do.

Simplest:

Download and install the free PPTools Starter Set (http://get.pptools.com for
the download, http://starterset.pptools.com for more info). It includes a tool
that'll let you "memorize" the size and position of one title text block after
you've manually moved it into position, then reposition any others to that
memorized position with a single click.

More interesting:

Try the ShapeStyles demo. http:\\shapestyles.pptools.com

The free demo lets you create up to 5 styles; for this, one's all you need.
It'll let you position and format one sample title then memorize it as a style.
After that, just select the style and click the Apply button: it'll create a
new title for you automatically, all formatted, with text selected and ready to
type into it.

Which version are you using? If you are using 2002 or later, you can set up
one master with the slide title at the top and one with the slide title at
the bottom. Then, apply the one you want when you create your slides.
