HOSTS file really sucks!

Try this one:

AFAIK it was the first to be used for ad blocking. I use it and like it. You
can also check out some other helps like Hostess for managing your hosts
file.

No I've used it. Flash sites don't work with it installed
and my browser got hijacked with it too. Besides it hasn't
been updated in 2 months. There has to be a better HOSTS
file somewhere.

FWIW...Things like that are why I like it, Flash I mean. Hosts isn't going
to help with Browser Hijacks, unless you manage to block out every site that
does this stuff.

Anna, I agree with you hpguru's HOSTS file is very good.
This is a better link
http://asp.flaaten.dk/download/pafiledb.php?action=category&id=2 as it does
not wrap.

Larry,
I notice that you failed to mention what "lame spyware" ..... (or from
where)
It doesn't say much for your "defense" is you let a "lame" one get ya!
"It lets way too many ads get through"
You may be right ..... I have no intension of trying to block every ad know
to man!

You are a compulsive surfer?

Install a firewall such as ZoneAlarm.
A host file is not the best way to stop everything.
