Need a Gigabyte GA-7VRXP replacement

I have a Gigabyte GA-7VRXP with Promise Raid on the motherboard. I
have a Raid 1 configuration. It seems the motherboard has gone bad.
Now, if I replace it with the same thing I don't see a problem, but as
this is an older board they are hard to find. That being said, if I
fine another MB with Promise controllers on it, or use a separate
Promise controller, should it be able to recognize the array straight
off? Not being sure of the answer, I would like to find another of the
same board, but it is proving difficult. Anybody got any sources?

Mine died from bad caps

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone
marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow
transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:

Ok, you've got a problem. Most raid controllers should be able to rebuild
raid 1 automatically. The problem is, that assumes that the raid controller
driver is already installed on one or both hard drives. In other words,
you'd have to find an exact replacement mainboard, OR use your current
mainboard to install the drivers for the new RAID controller (mainboard or
add-in card).

The only suggestion I have is, find a new raid controller somewhere and try
to do a repair install of windows. During the repair install, you will need
to install the raid controller drivers from floppy disk. It won't be
pretty, but it might work. -Dave

If you use a differrent motherboard (or a different version of the same
motherboard) then you MUST reformat the RAID array and do a fresh install of
the OS in order to avoid nasty Registry errors and data corruption.
