Need a firewall

I'm looking for a software firewall to protect my Windows XP box. I really
do not want one of those glitzy application filters like ZA or Kerio. I'm
simply after a low-level packet-filtering firewall with custom rules and
transparent (preferably text file) configuration. The closest I've found
is a freeware offering called Look 'n' Stop Lite but the configuration is
horrible. Any suggestions?

Why wouldn't you want something like Zone Alarm? I use McAfee and it works well....
