navigation area

I'm trying to disable a bunch of programs that were
automatically put in to my navigation area on Windows XP
when I installed them. I tried the msconfig-startup and
cleared the ones I don't want. When I restart it brings
up my msconfig screen again. It wants me to put it back
in normal mode instead of selective. Does anybody know
how to get them out of my navigation area? THANKS

When it asks you if you want to go to Normal startup, click Don't show me
this again, and don't choose Normal startup.

Alternatively, you can go to www.dougknox.com, Win XP Fixes, Disable
MSConfig Selective Startup Screen. After making your changes in MSCONFIG,
run this script, and it will remove the Registry entry that causes MSConfig
to run the next time you logon.

Hi Lori,

Check for an option to not having the icon load in the System Tray via the
program(s) in question.

Other options for removal:

Go to Start/Run and type in: msconfig. Go to the Startup Tab and uncheck
accordingly. Then run this script to remove the disabled items from the
registry.
