navbar loading slowly

I have created a new FP 2002 website for a client using Shared Borders. The client wants to take over maintenance, so using shared borders seemed like a great way to simplify the adding of new webpages to the website. The shared borders include the header, the left margin (which includes the Nav Bar), and the footer

The site is www.kofcindy.or

Everything is working well except the navbar buttons load slowly. It seems like the button that is clicked on usuallly disappears, the new page loads and then the buttons in the nav bar are slow to load. I did modify an existing theme and I did change the vertical nav buttons to use a custom button. So I may have shot myself in the foot here. But, the custom button graphic was only 2k. Any thoughts or suggestions

Thanks!

Looks fine and loads fast here.

It's a little slow over a 26,400 dialup, but not too bad.

Thanks for the quick responses guys

I'm on DSL and the nav bar is the last thing to load (much slower than the rest of the page). Since the Nav Bar is in a Shared Border and is the same on all pages, is there a way to avoid the re-load of the Navbar

Thanks
Tinman

No, as the navbar is actually inserted into each page when you save the page/shared border while
working in FP.

Thanks Thomas. I appreciate your information! Looks like I'll either live with the performance as it is now, or remove the nav bar and replace it with buttons. I hate to do that since the Nav bar will simplify the future maintenance of the site by my client. Oh well, I guess I'll leave that up to the client to make the call on that one

Thanks

Buttons will not change the load time, as they will still load in the same manner for each page. I
only use text for navigation links to avoid any wait time.

I'm on VDSL, it loads pretty fast...it does kinda "jump" but not bad.
